It Is Time To Upgrade Your Computer To Windows 7

Microsoft terminated technical support and other updates for Windows XP this year. It is not safe to continue using the same, as it is prone to potential threats and hacks from intruders. Hence, it is best to upgrade your operating system to Windows 7 or Windows 8 or any other higher versions. According to OmniTech support reviews, it is best to upgrade to Windows 7, as it is far better than Windows 8 and the other Windows versions. You can seek Omni Tech support to upgrade your computers with ease.

Before you go forward with the installation, you need to check if the system requirements are met. One issue with Windows 7 is its compatibility with hardware. Windows 7 works only with specific hardware. You can check if the hardware requirements are met with the help of the Windows 7 Upgrade Advisor. This utility will run a scan on the computer. In the end, it would recommend the upgrades to be done before installing Windows 7 in the computer. The upgrade advisor is free and can be downloaded from Microsoft’s official website.

Let us get started with the upgrade to Windows 7. There are two options to choose, you can choose either the Upgrade or the Custom Installation option. When you plan to upgrade from a lower version, you will have to choose the Upgrade option. In this option, you can retain the settings, files and programs installed in the computer as such. But when you are planning to install a fresh copy of the operating system, you can go for Custom installation.

When you go for Custom Installation, it will not store the files, programs and settings in the computer. Since you cannot retain all the information and data in the computer, you will have to take a backup before opting for the installation.

There are many editions available with Windows 7; hence, you can choose one of them according to your specific needs. The different editions available in Windows 7 are Windows 7 Home Premium, Windows 7 Professional Upgrade, Windows 7 Professional, Windows 7 Ultimate Upgrade and Windows 7 Home Premium.

People using computers at home can go for the basic Windows 7 Home Premium. In this edition, video and photo sharing is made simple with the Windows Media Center. Meanwhile in offices and other corporate places, Windows 7 Ultimate is the most preferred OS, since it has many functionalities and features included when compared to the other editions. Hence, according to OmniTech support reviews, Windows 7 is the best OS choice whether it is for personal or professional use!

Procedure To Fix Windows Installer Service Could Not Be Accessed

Windows 7 offers some of the best features for its users. That is why, over 50% of the desktop OS users in the world use Microsoft Windows 7. Agreed, it is one of the most solid Windows OS that Microsoft has developed till date. However, there are many problems that can occur in Windows 7, and annoy users often.

Sometimes, when you try to install any third party program in Windows 7 that uses an MSI file as the installer, you may see an error message on the screen saying: Windows Installer Service could not be accessed. Though the error message alarms most users, there is no reason to panic. There is an easy solution for the issue, and Omni Tech Support shows you how to fix the same.

Instructions
  • First, click on the Start button located at the lower left corner of the desktop screen and enter Run in the search box.
  • When the Run dialog box opens up, enter cmd in the text area, and click on the OK button. It will open the Command Prompt window on your computer screen.
  • If you are using the 32-bit version of Windows 7, enter %windir%\system32\msiexec.exe /unregister in the pop-up box, and hit Enter. This command will unregister the msiexec.exe file in the system, which is located at Drive:\Windows\system32 directory.
  • After that, enter %windir%\system32\msiexec.exe /regserver in the command prompt window and hit on the Enter key. This time, it will re-register the msiexec.exe file in the system directory.
  • If you are using the 64-bit version of Windows 7, enter %windir%\syswow64\msiexec.exe /unregister and %windir%\syswow64\msiexec.exe /regserver in the command prompt window, in the same sequence as mentioned above. Here, your msiexec.exe file will be located at Drive:\Windows\system64 directory
  • When done, type in Exit in the command prompt window, and press the Enter key. Restart your system to allow the changes take effect.
When your computer reboots, it will be possible for you to install programs that use MSI installer files. The above mentioned steps work perfectly for Windows 7 computers. However, if you are not sure how to operate on command prompt, contact the Omni Tech support team for assistance, before something worse happens.

Relief For Parkinson’s Disease By Microsoft Kinect Service

Kinect is extremely popular in the gaming industry due to its motion sensing capabilities. This device allowed an entirely new range of motion-based games that are not possible using standard gamepad or controllers. Moreover, Kinect is the first gaming device that has the capability of extended functionality beyond just gaming. It even finds application in the medical devices industry due to its easy motion sensing capabilities. The accuracy and sensitivity of the device in sensing motion makes it the ideal tool for telemedicine. Do not heed advice of OmniTech Support scam sites which detail how Kinect devices are a cause of concern in terms of security.

Telemedicine, if you do not already know, is a form of patient care in which the doctors give patients medical care from within their homes. This is possible using medical devices. Until Kinect support came into the market, doctors had to hand out extremely expensive machines in order to track information about their patients. However, ever since Kinect was released in the market, the possibility of a cheaper alternative emerged. Using the Kinect device, doctors can hope to communicate with the patients and do therapy sessions from inside their home. Kinect does not need to remain switched on in order to play Xbox, contrary to information provided by OmniTech Support scam sites and reviews.

As per the authentic OmniTech support blogs and reviews, the latest medical application for Kinect device was developed by Microsoft, for persons suffering from Parkinson’s disease. Using this device, the patients can both perform tests alone, for the benefit of the doctors, or perform therapy sessions without having to go to any clinic. They can do the same from within their home premises. Using the gaming device, they can perform fine motor tests like tapping feet, tapping fingers and can even perform rapid movement tests of each individual limbs. This test is performed and analyzed using the Kinect support sensor and is completely automated.

Microsoft has improved the functionality of Xbox One to more than just sensing movements. Using the camera found in Kinect, the patients can contact their physician through video conferencing. This way, they can contact experts from around the world with ease.

The best feature about Kinect is its extreme sensitivity at extremely competitive rates. The cost of Kinect is just a fraction in comparison with other telemedicine devices. The Stand-alone feature of Kinect allows the user to use this device along with a computer without the use of the gaming console. The prospects of this device in the medical industry are huge and therapy sessions for patients suffering from Parkinson’s are just the beginning.

The technology is just in the nascent stage and future implications of this technology can be huge.

Identifying Fraudulent Technical Service Support

Over the years, OmniTech Support services have received critical acclaim from thousands of users who have had trouble with their Windows PC system. However, there are some wild rumors about OmniTech Support being fraudulent and cheats money from their customers. This however, is a myth perpetuated by rivals who wish to destroy the reputation of OmniTech that it has worked so hard to create.

The truth is, OmniTech is a genuine tech support hotline that helps out every user that seeks assistance. The company employs scores of graduate employees who are then trained to deal with any sort of issues than can come up with the computer. They are trained on a wide array of services, from virus attacks to complex issues with the operating system, from common ones to ones that can be labeled as bizarre. Omni Tech Support fraud is merely a lie since each employee works on solving issues within the computer at the fastest possible time.

Each customer who calls in the OmniTech Support services will be greeted by courteous staff who will first diagnose the problem with the system. At times, the error may be a simple one which needs a small fix. In certain cases, there may be several reasons behind the faulty functioning and the technician may need to find out all of them before they can troubleshoot the computer. Once they find out what is wrong with your computer, they will be able to relay relevant information in order to troubleshoot the issue. They will guide you through the entire process, step-by-step, so that you can solve the issue yourself. Actual Omni Tech Support fraud companies will make no attempt to do so.

In certain cases, when users are unable to solve the issue despite the assistance, the technicians will have to remotely access the system. The entire process is transparent and the tech support staff will proceed to troubleshoot your system by themselves. You will be able to view any and every changes they make. This way, you can keep a tab on them, for your security as well as understand what has to be done in the future. Fraud schemes will try to make various changes and will not have a transparent system.

This level of service, for an extremely low charge, would be an excellent deal. There are several Omni Tech Support Fraud schemes that claim to be from OmniTech but actually are not. OmniTech does not cold call random people and inform them they have a virus in their system.

Getting To Know Scam Support Services

There are online scams of different varieties. If you have been using emails for a long while, you must have come across the Nigerian prince scam which became notorious not too long ago. To refresh your memory, here’s what happened: Tons of scam email were sent to users in which the scammer addresses himself as a Nigerian King who wants to transfer Millions of dollars in online fund transfer while he can still afford to do so.

While most users instantly recognize it as fraudulent, certain gullible users go forth and reply. These users are then hoodwinked into giving their online banking account details. The conversation would then stop and the innocent user will later come to know all his savings have now been robbed. This scam, ridiculous to the point of hilarity, worked because tons of people were hoodwinked into revealing their passwords and other personal information.

Over the years, online scams have become even more difficult to catch and have become more difficult to catch. Many legitimate tech support services like OmniTech Support receive various complaints from users who were fooled by actual scam sites that tricked them into installing malware. Some time ago, there were several online scams that would cold-call random users falsely identifying as “Microsoft employees” and inform them that their computers were infected with virus and needs to be repaired. Gullible users will then panic and do everything that the person says, spoiling their computer even further. They would make the user install some sort of virus and then ask ransom in order to remove it again!

There are several ways where tricksters scam you into extorting your hard earned money. While some twist your arm into paying needlessly, several others hoodwink you into thinking the exorbitant price is worth the service rendered! One such service is tech support service that wrecks your computer and then extorts money in promise of repairing it. The repair price would be extra-ordinarily high in comparison to professional service providers like OmniTech Support and will be unaffordable for most.

Beware of scammers and their schemes by keeping your eyes open at all times. They will try and hoodwink you any chance they get, so it is better to keep your guards up. Be on the lookout for any lie and never blindly believe any person that comes and contacts you for anything related to your computer and especially your online banking details. It is better not to benefit from any suspicious “deals” than lose everything you have earned over the years.

BitTorrent Releases Secure Messaging Software

According to Windows online support blogs, the test version of BitTorrent Bleep has been launched by the company. The advantage of this software is that it allows users to send messages and make calls without the help of a central server. This system makes use of a special technique where a user is found out with the help of other user groups. Another advantage is that there will be no records of the calls made or messages sent. The new software is designed for the National Security Agency.

Windows online support blogs say that with the software, the communication takes place only between two computers and as mentioned above, no server comes into play. This peer-to-peer technique will help the agency to avoid surveillance of the calls. BitTorrent will make the software available only through invitations and since it is in the testing phase, many modifications are expected. One of the disadvantages of the software is that for now, the software would work only on Windows 7 and Windows 8 PCs. However, the company says, it would soon release the version for other platforms.

The new software is an example of BitTorrent’s efforts in developing applications aimed at distributed computing technology. The company had launched BitTorrent Sync last year and it was aimed to replace the cloud-based programs. With the new messaging and online calling service, the company aims to safeguard the privacy of the users. In case of cloud based servers, there are some major threats to the data. One such issue associated with this is that the electronic signals are handled using central servers. With this, the metadata goes through these central servers. This data can be monitored and intercepted, which affects the data security.

The new BitTorrent Bleep will help you to speak and chat freely without the fear of data being intercepted by unknown sources. The project was announced in 2013 and is ready within a year. Once the testing with the alpha version is over, the company would soon make necessary changes to the software and release it for the public. As of now, users may go to the BitTorrent blog and click the button ‘Request A Bleep Invite’. This will take you to the BitTorrent labs website, where you will find the link to download the alpha version of the program. Simply click it to download the setup file. Install it and start exploring new ways of secure communication.

Fixing Windows Installer Errors

You might not have noticed it as such, but there’s something called Windows Installer in Windows OS, which guides you through the installation of software programs. Now, sometimes this doesn’t work as it should, leaving you unable to install a program in the computer.

Finding out there’s something wrong in the computer is itself hard enough for many users. Most people dial the Windows support number at the slightest sign of trouble and here too, this might be the case. But, there are a few things you can try yourself before calling someone for help.

If Windows installer doesn’t respond the way it should, or doesn’t pop up when you launch the installer for a program, try one of the following methods.

Re-register it

Sometimes re-registering is all it takes, so here’s how you do it.
  • Go to the Start menu, and hit the Run option.
  • Type msiexec /unreg in the dialog box, and hit the Enter key.
  • Go to the Start menu again, and hit the Run option.
  • Type in msiexec /regserver, and hit Enter.
Make sure that it’s enabled
Sometimes Windows Installer doesn’t launch automatically, and maybe that’s the problem you have.
  • Go to the Start menu, and select the Run option.
  • Type in services.msc, and then hit the Enter key.
  • Check that the value in the Startup type: field isn’t set to disabled; if it is, change it to Manual.
Windows registry is one of the most error prone areas in the operating system, and it’s hard to fix manually once it’s corrupted. There are many ways of doing this automatedly, utilities that are designed to de-clutter it more thoroughly and safely. Not even the pros like to mess around with the OS registry, because the information it contains is so important to the OS.

If you want the registry cleaned up, a scanner software is your best bet. Many other issues you have only barely noticed, could be removed this way as well. There’s always a hike in the speed and smoothness of the operating system after a registry cleanup. Much and nearly all of the redundant data is removed each scan, with your computer able to run more efficiently as an upshot.

For more such tips on fixing you Windows problems, search the other posts here. We provide assistance for any of your PC issues, so call our Windows support number if you need any help.

Windows XP Support Ends Yet You See Many Users Clinging On To It

We all know by now that Windows XP is no more supported by the software giant Microsoft Corporation. This means that the 13-year-old operating system will not be receiving any security updates, hotfixes, patches, or Windows tech support either free or paid.

Microsoft has been intending to do this for many years now. But, the software giant could not go ahead with the plans because of the huge number of Windows XP users in the market. Windows XP survived thirteen long years. This is by far the longest period of support enjoyed by any Microsoft product.

There are many reasons why XP reigned supreme from so many years in the software universe. Here are the three main reasons for that.

Familiarity

Windows XP is so familiar that when we think of an operating system, you tend to picture the interface of XP at first. It supports a wide range of applications to make the user experience much better. Windows XP was undoubtedly the most popular operating system of the last decade. In fact, Windows XP ruled the market until Windows 7 took over.

Windows Vista a horrendous OS

If Windows XP reached the pinnacle, Windows Vista was the nadir of Microsoft’s operating system development history. No words can adequately describe what went wrong with Vista. There was so much hype with it, but the software delivered very little. It was probably the success of Windows XP, which in some way caused Vista to bomb big time. With the failure of Windows Vista, Windows XP’s market share remained at the top.

Products compatible with Windows XP
As Windows XP dominated the major operating system for about a decade, many software products were specifically developed to be compatible with the platform. And so, many small business software products are only compatible with Windows XP. This is why many SMBs are stilling continuing with Windows XP.

Whatever the reason for not migrating to newer Windows operating systems be, with no official Windows tech support and security updates available, Windows XP users are actually taking a huge risk. Even before the end of support, Windows XP was the most targeted operating system. So, you can imagine the kind of bombardment your XP powered system will have to face in the future.

It is best to migrate to advanced, superior, and feature-packed operating systems like Windows 8 or Windows 8.1. You will surely get more to enjoy with such metro-ized operating systems.

Mainstream Windows 7 Support Deadline Approaching

Most of you might be pretty much aware about the end of support for Windows XP, the aging Microsoft Windows Operating System. But, you might be surprised to know that even Windows 7 support is about to end next year. Microsoft will end their mainstream support for all versions of Windows 7 on January 13, 2015. However, it is quite different from what happened with Windows XP support.

Now, it has not been long since the Windows XP End of Support, now the software maker has announced the end of mainstream support for Windows 7 and some other Microsoft products. You will be hearing lot more deadlines from now on.

You need to know that what happened with Windows XP is something different. It is as if Microsoft has totally abandoned the operating system. There is no support being offered, whatsoever, which means there is no use calling Windows support number when you have any technical issues concerning Windows XP. You will not be receiving any kind of official support. When it comes to the loss of support, which looms for Windows 7, the company means just end of mainstream support only.

There are three kinds of support end dates that the software giant offers for all their products. First is mainstream support deadline and then for the extended support and finally the End of Support.

Mainstream support involves tech services, which are offered during the first five years of the product. This includes all kinds of security updates, non-security hot fixes and free technical support covered by the software product license and feature updates.

With the end of mainstream support, the product goes into support period known as extended support. In this type of support, except for the security updates, there will be no other offerings.

Actually, for most businesses and consumers, end of mainstream support may not be a worrisome thing. The only thing is after January they would have to pay the software maker when they call Windows support number for help whenever they request for it.

Now, the major problem is actually when the company totally discontinues all kinds of support for a product. This means you will no longer be able to avail any support facilities offered by Microsoft. Your system will be exposed to serious vulnerabilities if you continue using that product even after the end of support period.

So, for now, Windows 7 users need not worry. Even if the mainstream support ends, the extended support will continue for another five years.

Internet Explorer Finally Steps Up!

After a string of defeats, both in terms of popularity and security, Microsoft has finally decided to step up with its once-popular website browser, Internet Explorer. They recently announced on their official blog that the next release of Internet Explorer would feature four new features: Web Audio API, Media Capture and Streams, ES6 Promises and HTTP/2. That’s not all! Microsoft assured its users the list in not exhaustive, and that the actual release would feature many more features apart from the ones stated above.

HTTP/2, which is based on Google’s SPDY open networking protocol, is the latest state-of-the-art protocol, which will result in significant improvement in speed. Thus, we can expect the latest Internet Explorer to be a lot faster than predecessor versions. Many users contacted the Microsoft support staff to confirm this news.

While Web Audio JavaScript API will process and synthesize audio faster than the existing system, Media Capture provides the website browser, access to audio and video device hardware of your system. Both these systems will enhance your online browsing experience when using Internet Explorer. On the other hand, ES6 Promises are meant for developers. They let you write shorter and cleaner code.

In its official blog, Microsoft promises “commitment to delivering interoperable implementations for the latest features on the modern Web” with the next Internet Explorer release. True to their statement, if these features are introduced, Internet Explorer will stand at par with Google Chrome and Mozilla Firefox, the most popular website browsers at present.

Apart from this, the Official Microsoft blog promises interoperability, compatibility and security. Not only will the latest Internet Explorer feature improved security features that aim at plugging potential vulnerabilities, any website whether written ages ago in standard HTML code, or in latest HTML5, will be compatible.

Moreover, status.modern.ie, which was first released at Build 2014, will soon come out of Beta testing phase with the following improvements:

About The Windows 8 Help And Support Feature

On October 26th of 2012, Microsoft released their latest operating system Windows 8, which brought some radical changes to the computer industry by completely redefining the user interface of the operating system. With Windows 8, Microsoft revamped their user interface to a tile based design by ditching their age-old icon based design. It was this new design that attracted people to the operating system. The operating system also included support for all the new technologies in the market like USB 3.0, Advanced Hard drive formats and Near Field Communications.

Even though market researchers say that the operating system could not achieve the success of its predecessor, according to the details we were able to procure from Windows online support website, Microsoft has managed to sell about 100 million copies of the operating system worldwide. The best feature of the operating system is that it included new security features like UEFI secure boot, inbuilt antivirus software and Microsoft smart screen. However, with added support services and features, it is obvious that the operating system will have more bugs and troubles.

Well, there is nothing to be worried about the bugs and issues with the Windows 8 operating system, as you can get help from the Windows 8 help and support team in such cases. Windows online support center allows the users to get support for all of their issues with the operating system. There is no need to get online support in the first place, as there is an inbuilt help and support program in the operating system. You can launch the help and support program by pressing the F1 key in the keyboard or by clicking on its icon present in the Start menu.

The program is categorized into three main sections, Get Started, Internet & Network and Security Privacy & Accounts. The first section has basic information on how to use the Windows 8 operating system, like installing new programs in the operating system, using keyboard and mouse with the computer etc. in the second section, the program gives us information on creating and connecting the system to networks or other computers over a network.

The third section provides users information on how to create a strong password and manager their computers free from viruses and malwares. In short, a user can fix almost all types of issues by getting help from the Windows help and support.

Mac Users Experiencing Issues With Outlook

Of late, Outlook users have been experiencing several issues regarding the syncing of information in OS X. The most commonly found problems with Outlook include those related to Apple Mail’s IMAP syncing. Many websites have reported fixes to overcome this problem regarding the Outlook messages.

There have been many issues reported related to the compatibility of applications on the Mac computer. Earlier the problems were reported related to Maverick’s and Mail.app's support for Gmail, and other questionable support for other IMAP mail services. Although Apple reportedly released a fix for this solution, it didn’t do much. Not only were existing issues left unsolved, but the issues still continued. As stated by the ZDNet readers, some of the main issues in Mail.app on OS X Mavericks include having trouble with missing commas in Cc: and Bcc: fields in addition to the slow performance of the application while opening some attachments in it. Now, the users are also experiencing the same sort of issues in Outlook. According to a recent MacWindows blog post, Editor John Rizzo mentioned about the existing sync problems with Outlook on Mavericks, and the possible fixes that can be done by using Microsoft Exchange Online. He also suggested a different solution to overcome this issues and that is by running Outlook for Windows in a number of virtualization choices. But then, this choice won’t be suitable for everyone.

Another quick fix suggested to solve the problems with Outlook includes running the application for Windows on your Mac in a Windows virtual machine using components such as Parallels Desktop, VMware Fusion, or Oracle VirtualBox. This is because even though now Apple doesn’t entertain Sync services from OS X, the company still offers Sync Services for Windows OSs, including Windows 8. According to the Windows tech support, the sync Services for Windows is available in the current version of iTunes for Windows. This means that the users can easily do the iOS-to-Windows syncing directly. Now, if you're already running Outlook for Windows in a virtual machine, you may find it easy. But in other cases, it may prove to be quite expensive. Rizzo also said that there have been rumors about the addition of CalDAV and CardDAV support to Outlook for Mac by Microsoft, which is another viable solution.

Hence, it can be said that the problems of Mac users with the Outlook application still continues. It is yet to be seen how much time Microsoft takes to curb such issues permanently.

Removing The Yahoo Toolbar

The Yahoo toolbar or the search bar can be very helpful for the Internet users. This toolbar will get automatically installed with the Yahoo! software that includes the Yahoo! instant messenger. If you like using toolbars installed in your web browser, this toolbar can prove to be really helpful. This toolbar is usually embedded at the top of the web browsers and is aimed at providing the users with easy access to the Yahoo! features and searches. The users also have the option to install the Yahoo! Toolbar from the official Yahoo! website. After installing the toolbar, it will appear automatically in the list of the available toolbars in the web browser that is installed in your PC. If you are wondering how to remove Yahoo toolbar, you can follow the steps that are discussed below.

As you know, Internet Explorer and Mozilla Firefox are the most common web browsers that the computer users usually use. Click on the Start button that is located on the lower left hand corner of the computer screen and then select All Programs from the Start menu. From the All Programs list, select Internet Explorer or Mozilla Firefox web browser.
  • In the browser window, click on the View button that is placed at the top menu of the web browser and then select Toolbars from the drop-down menu that appears.
  • From the list of toolbars, select Yahoo Search. If there is a check mark in the box that is located near the Yahoo toolbar, it means that the toolbar is enabled. You can click on the box again to remove the checkmark. This will make sure that the Yahoo toolbar is disabled completely and it will no longer appear in your web browser.
If you wish to enable the toolbar in the future, you can follow the steps that are discussed above and then check the box that is located near the Yahoo toolbar to enable it. Reasons For The 'Cannot Start Microsoft Outlook' Error

Outlook is the famous email program employed both for business as well as personal purposes. All the data that is stored in Outlook is in the form of .PST files and any corruption to these files will cause many Outlook problems including the errors labeled 'cannot start Microsoft Outlook', 'cannot open the Outlook window' or 'Outlook.pst is not an Outlook data'. These errors cannot be fixed by the Microsoft Inbox Repair Tool and needs some methods to fix it. Well, here we explain some reasons for this Outlook problem; by knowing the reasons, you will be able to fix these issues very easily.

Scanpst.exe

The PST mailbox that you have created in Outlook is actually a file that is saved on the system's hard drive. Therefore, any issues or troubles occurring in the hard drive will also affect the PST files in the hard drive and will start causing problems. However, to fix the minor issues associated with this, Microsoft has included a utility tool called as Scanpst.Exe. By using this tool, you can fix minor issues associated with Outlook PST file corruption.

Cannot Open Outlook Window issue

There had been various reasons for the error where the Outlook.pst file is preventing users to access the application. This error is commonly seen after updating the Service Pack 2 of Office 2007 suite. However, in case of Outlook 2003 and 2010 issues, it may be because of configuration related issues. In this case, Outlook will be not be allowed to start because of the corruption of Navigation Pane’s configuration file rising to the problem called Cannot Start Outlook.

Reasons for failure of Scanpst.Exe

This is the repair utility employed by many users, if they come across any issues with PST corruption. However, because of certain limitations, this tool will not be that effective; let’s look at the reasons for this.
  • Basically, this utility tool is designed to solve minor problems regarding PST file corruption. However, in case of major problems, this tool will be a failure.
  • If the issue is associated with the body of the file, then there is a little chance for recovery, as the program will support only header corruption recovery.
  • If the issue regarding the PST corruption is not solved by using the utility tool, then it may be because of the increase in the file size of the PST.
These are the basic reasons for the 'Cannot Start Microsoft Outlook' problems. To know more regarding this, contact the Outlook support number.

Check If Someone Has Blocked You On Msn Messenger Chat

Many of us use the Windows Live Messenger application to chat with our friends. Formerly known as MSN Messenger, this online messaging application is one of the most widely used services by the users. Developed by Microsoft, Windows Live Messenger is compatible for Windows, Blackberry OS, iOS, etc. The technicians available at the Windows online support can be contacted anytime to troubleshoot and fix the issues related to this instant messaging application.

The best aspect of using Windows Live Messenger is that here, you can decide whom you want to talk with. This means you can text, voice and video-chat with your friends and contacts that you are familiar with. Similarly, you can block those contacts with whom you no longer wish to communicate from contacting you through this messaging service. Thus, Windows Live Messenger also serves as a safe messaging application. Now, sometimes you may also get a feeling that a person would have blocked you but you won’t be sure about it.

You can try the following instructions by the Windows online support to check if someone has blocked you on MSN Messenger chat:
  • The first thing you need to do is to sign in to the Windows Live account from which you believe you’ve been blocked. After signing in, you can scroll through your Contacts list and check if the person you believe blocked you appears Online or not. If you see him online, you haven’t been blocked.
  • Another alternative is to chat with a mutual contact and check if the person you believe blocked you appears online in the mutual contact’s contact list. Here, if he does appear, it means he has blocked you.
  • You can also double-click the person’s name that would be listed in Offline Contacts. Now, try sending him a message. If the message that you send goes through, Windows Live Messenger application would deliver it to your contact the next time he signs in. This would mean that he hasn’t blocked you. But if you receive an error message after sending the message, it would indicate that you cannot communicate with the person. In short, he has blocked you.
By following these steps provided by the Windows support technicians, you would be able to check if someone has blocked you on Windows Live Messenger. For more information on this instant messaging application, please contact our technical support team.

Yet Another Microsoft Update Error

It seems that Microsoft cannot get a thing right these days. The problems with the Microsoft Windows update all but caused a riot. Now, there seems to be some problem with the Microsoft Office update 2013. Many users who assumed that the update would fix the problems with their Microsoft software, had to uninstall it and restore the system.

Issue with the new Microsoft Office Update

Microsoft quickly removed the Microsoft Windows update, when the reports started coming in about some problem that was affecting some of the users. They’re apparently doing the same thing with the Microsoft Office Update 2013. This has prompted many users and IT experts to ask whether Microsoft is properly testing their updates before releasing them.

In the case of the MS Office update, it was found that installing the update disabled some of the Windows OS functions. With more and more users reporting the error, Microsoft have quickly realised that there was some error in the update file, which is affecting the Windows OS and chose to withdraw the update from the site.

The update was meant for the new Office 2013 versions – both 32 and 64 bit, Home Office and Student Office RT 2013. The update was supposed to make the interface more user-friendly and fix some of the performance issues in the new Office application.

Though Microsoft claims that they thoroughly test all their updates before releasing them, the reality is different. This is not the first time this has happened. Many Windows users have to reformat their whole system after they updated their system with the new Windows 8 RT update a few months. A recent Microsoft Exchange Server update too created more problems than it was supposed to solve.

All this points to the fact that Microsoft has failed to thoroughly test these updates and identify the technical bugs before they affect the users. Frankly, these updates were supposed to fix the technical bugs already there in the Windows and Office software. They end up creating more problems instead.

One of the Microsoft statements released after this incident talked about a step-by-step release of updates in the future. Making the update available to 1% users the first, 10% the next day and if there are no problems still, 100% the third day. They reckon this way they would be able to spot the problems early on and take the necessary steps to fix them.

Controlling User Account Controls In Windows 7

The latest two versions of the Windows operating systems; Windows 7 and Windows Vista, released by Microsoft, contained high-level advanced security features as compared to previous releases like Windows XP or Windows 2000. The earlier version treated every user of the system as an administrator by default. However, this is modified in the latter versions allowing only one user profile to hold administrative control over the system. Still, Windows 7 and Windows Vista have a utility called the User Account Control, which allows users to elevate permissions if required or prompted. Windows 7 has Windows support, so that you can control the behavior of the UAC, and do not get prompts for permissions. Use the following instructions to make the necessary changes in UAC.

Instructions
  • Start your Windows 7 powered computer and log in to your profile as you would normally. Once your desktop appears, check if any background application is running. Close these applications immediately.
  • On the lower left corner of your desktop, you will notice a Windows Start orb. Click on this orb to open the Start menu. In the top right of the Start menu, you will see your profile’s picture. Click on this account picture to open a window from where you can make changes in your user account profile. Now select the option labeled as Change User Account Control Settings.
  • Now keep an eye out for the User Account Control options slider. The user Account Control’s default option is to notify you only when the programs try to modify some aspect in your system’s configuration. This also notifies the user when a new program is getting installed on the system. There is an option below that does the same thing, but dims your desktop in the process. There is another option at the bottom of the list which completely eliminates any prompts for permissions. This is labeled as the Never Notify option. So move the slider to the bottom of the options window.
  • Click on OK. The User Account Control may prompt you to confirm your action once more, and the ask you to reboot the system. Do this, and the reboot process saves these applied changes to your system.
If you have any issues in your Windows system, contact experts at Windows support to troubleshoot all your issues. The technical assistants at Windows support are very quick to address your issues, and do it in a prompt and effective manner.

Google Offers Windows Support For The Cloud Print Service

Microsoft and Google are the biggest giants in the tech world. Apparently, there is a healthy rivalry between both of them. Google’s venture into the genre of operating systems with Android was an unexpected shock for Microsoft. But, both giants have come to terms recently to improve the features of Cloud Print service, a modern technology developed by Google to establish connection between Web and printers.

The scope of cloud print

Experts were looking forward to seeing Cloud print service released with the Windows support. As the service is greatly beneficial to the Windows computers, Microsoft support would be an added benefit to the service. Through the Cloud print service, users can connect their printing devices to the web and print their files from anywhere in the world. All they need to have is a computing device with internet support. Google stated that the service is available on all types of computing devices such as desktops, laptops, smartphones and tablets. Google’s decision to provide support for Cloud Print service for Windows will be beneficial to Google as it facilitates the functionality of the app across Windows operating systems.

Update to Cloud Print service

Microsoft support for the Cloud Print service facilitates the addition of a couple of tools that would improve its usability. While one of the tools (Google Cloud Printer for Windows) is a printer driver, the other facilitates the network access to the service on Windows operating systems.
Using the Google Cloud Printer tool, users are able to access the connected printers from applications running on the Windows platform. The version of Cloud Print service with added features is said to be providing users with wider access to network services than before.

Runs in the background

One of the most appreciated advantage of the Cloud Print service on Windows operating system is that it runs in the background. The users can use this application in the same manner as they would use a native Windows service. In fact, the application simplifies the steps involved in connecting the new printers or maintaining them.
Cloud Print Service App for Windows Operating Systems

Google has officially released the beta version of its Cloud Print service for Windows operating systems such as Windows 7, Windows Vista and Windows XP. Though the app is featured with Windows support, the users need to download and install Google Chrome as their default web browser to use this service. Along with the Windows version of Cloud Print app, Google has also released the Android version.
